Wisconsin stemmer 5. april og den republikanske guvernøren Scott Walker støtter og stemmer på Ted Cruz.
Da Walker trakk sitt presidentkandidatur i slutten av september i fjor høst oppfordret han andre kandidater om å gjøre det samme, slik at et konservativt alternativ til Donald Trump kunne vokse i styrke. Det skjedde ikke.
Nå anser han Ted Cruz for å være det beste alternativet til Trump, i likhet med blant andre Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina og Lindsey Graham.
Walker hintet om den kommende støtteerklæringen allerede i forrige uke:
If you’re someone who is uneasy with the front-runner right now, there’s really only one candidate. Ted Cruz is the only one who’s got a chance other than Donald Trump to win the nomination statistically, and my friend Gov. (John) Kasich cannot.

Walker kommer til å drive valgkamp sammen med Cruz fram mot valget på tirsdag i neste uke.
